Training

Whether you have new and inexperienced volunteers or "older" ones who need to brush up on their skills, training is not only advisable, but essential to maintain the best possible listening experience for your listeners. If your TN doesn't have a training plan in place at the moment, you could consider starting one with new volunteers and offering places to existing volunteers who want to join in the fun. Rather than allowing your volunteers to feel as if they are being "sent" for training because they are no longer good enough, emphasise the fact that your TN is investing time and/or money to help them improve skills, or learn new skills, which they can take with them into other areas of their lives.

ASTN organises training events around Scotland throughout the year and an element of training is usually included in the annual conference programme.

Dates of future training will be advertised here, so bookmark this page!
